Privacy Policy

Effective January 1, 2026

This policy explains how CASSEN Testing Laboratories ("CASSEN", "we", "our") collects, uses, and protects information you provide through cassen.ca and the customer portal. We comply with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy laws.

What we collect

  • Account information — name, business email, phone number, company, and role you provide during signup and on your account page.
  • Submission data — project details, chain-of-custody information, sample identifiers, analyses requested, shipping addresses, and any notes you attach to orders, sample-supply requests, or quote/credit applications.
  • Usage data — authentication events, IP address, browser and device information, and navigation patterns needed to secure the portal and improve our services.
  • Communications — messages you send us through email, the contact form, or the portal AI assistant.

How we use it

  • To deliver the analytical services you request.
  • To authenticate you and protect your account.
  • To communicate about your submissions, reports, and invoices.
  • To comply with our obligations under ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation and applicable law (including record retention of analytical data).
  • To improve our services and, where permitted, to contact you about relevant capabilities.

Who we share it with

We do not sell personal information. We share limited information with:

  • Service providers who help us operate the portal (hosting, authentication, email delivery, analytics) — bound by contract and minimum-access rules.
  • Accreditation bodies and regulators, to the extent required to maintain our ISO 17025 scope or respond to lawful requests.
  • Courts or counsel, where a submission is made in support of litigation and you have directed the disclosure.

Retention

Analytical data is retained for the period required by the relevant accreditation standard and our quality system (typically a minimum of seven years). Account and submission data is retained while your account is active and for a reasonable period thereafter, then deleted or anonymized.

Your choices

You can access, correct, or delete your account profile from the portal. To request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to correct inaccuracies, or to withdraw consent for specific uses, email info@cassen.ca.

Security

We apply technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information, including row-level database security, encrypted transport, and role-based access for staff.
