Formaldehyde in Indoor Air
Sources, sampling, and the standards that govern what's acceptable in homes, schools, and workplaces.

Why formaldehyde
It's emitted by wood composites (UF / PF resins), furnishings, certain insulations, and combustion. It's a known carcinogen with low irritation thresholds — guidance from Health Canada (Long-Term Exposure Limit 50 µg/m³) and ACGIH applies.
Method
DNPH-coated silica cartridges with active sampling, analyzed by HPLC/UV per EPA TO-11A. Field blanks are required for quantitative results.
